Thank you for your interest in the "Introduction to the History and Cultures of Indigenous Peoples across Canada" course. These particular modules are not currently available, as the CIRNAC team and ChatterHigh will be conducting additional consultations with National Indigenous organizations and discussions of how to integrate the feedback received, especially from Indigenous Educators, before promoting the course in its current state.

This course was created in partnership with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), as part of this year's commemoration of National Indigenous History Month in June 2022. This gamified, online learning activity encouraged youth in Grades 6 to 12 to start their learning journey and build a stronger awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the diverse histories, cultures, and lived experiences of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis.

These particular modules are not currently available, as the CIRNAC team and ChatterHigh will be conducting additional consultations with National Indigenous organizations and discussions of how to integrate the feedback received, especially from Indigenous Educators, before promoting the course in its current state. Though many educators were not able to utilize the resource due to time constraints, we are thankful to everyone who reviewed the material and provided feedback, as it will help us improve on this pilot activity in the future.

ChatterHigh continues to offer a module titled "Mental Health Resources for Indigenous Youth" for grades 6-12 in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion course. This module introduces students to the Hope for Wellness Helpline, We Matter, Kids Help Phone's Indigenous Support Services, and the Culture for Life campaign. If you have questions about this module, or would like to suggest additions to it, please get in touch with us at info@chatterhigh.com.

Our team also continues to have conversations with provinces and territories, Indigenous groups, nonprofit organizations, and school divisions on possible new resources for Indigenous education. Please keep an eye on our Resources page for all content updates.
